Zion Shores is taking shape
If you were to fly over the Zion Shores area, you could already tell that the vision of the world's biggest surf-centered real estate project to date, is becoming reality.
Since the Foundation Ceremony at Zion Shores in November 2025 a lot of ground has been moved and significant progress has been made.
The iconic M-shaped lagoon design is already visible now that all the road base and most of the curb and gutter are installed.
In addition the gas lines and all wet utilities (sewer, water, storm, drain) have been installed.
The first few homes are now under construction while many more homes and townhomes are anticipated to begin construction now.
UNIT waves construction
We are happy to announce there is also a huge step being made towards our UNIT wave machines in Zion Shores.
In a spectacular night mission the footings for our 50 meter (164 feet) Dynamic Wave and our 18 meter (60 feet) Standing Wave were poured within 9 hours.
As these footings are massive the only way it was possible to get enough continuous concrete, was to pour these on a weekend in the middle of the night.
All the foundations had to be poured in a single operation to ensure a perfect platform for our wave machines.
130 trucks provided a steady supply of concrete while 3 massive pumps spread it evenly.
In addition a substantial amount of 500,000 pounds of rebar was used to ensure better load distribution and improve the foundation's structural integrity.
Now that the foundations for both Unit Surf Pools have been completed, the remaining concrete work on the lagoon, which will later connect the Standing Wave and Dynamic Wave, is continuing.
Furthermore most of the lagoon piping has been installed, which will be connected to the mechanical filtration building in the next steps.
What makes Zion Shores so special to UNIT
With two UNIT world premieres, Zion Shores shows what is possible in the world of artificial surfing.
Our 18-meter UNIT Standing Wave will then be the largest of its kind in the world, twice as large as our first prototype in Langenfeld.
The UNIT Dynamic Wave is our largest and newest innovation.
A 50-meter Surf Pool creating multiple moving surf pockets that bring real ocean dynamics into a compact environment.
This new technology of artificial surfing is the first of its kind and we couldn’t be happier to have Zion Shores be the first ones showcasing it.
